Horse Chestnuts

Are not the same as chestnuts. In fact they are nasty and bitter. And what we gathered were horse chestnuts. No wonder they were just laying all over the place. We only cooked half of them in case we wanted to try a different method, and Christopher told the boys that we could make musical instruments out of the second half, since there is no point in cooking them. Salem wanted to make a guitar, and when Christopher told him that might be too hard, he suggested perhaps a piano instead.

Now that we have practiced how to do it, I think we might shell out the $8/pound to try the real thing.
